Narrative description of Project:

Objective
The objective of the project was to carry out performance evaluation of activities carried out by Assam Forest Department under CAMPA Scheme for the period of 2010-11 to 2013-14 in whole of the Assam State.
Introduction
Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA) are meant to promote afforestation and regeneration activities as a way of compensating for forest land diverted to non-forest use.

The state CAMPA shall seek to promote:
a. conservation, protection, regeneration, and management of existing natural forests
b. conservation, protection and management of wildlife and its habitat within and outside protected area including the consolidation of the protected areas
c. compensatory afforestation
d. environmental services, which includes
e. Research, training, and capacity building

Project area
Whole of Assam state constituting of Territorial and Wildlife areas. The key activities under the assessment were Nurseries, Plantations areas, Infrastructure, Roads, and Training Capacity buildings etc.
