Mr. Sachin Raj Jain is the Managing Director of GICIA India Private Limited (GIPL) and has over 10 years of experience behind him directing various projects on Forest Certification, Sustainability, Life Cycle Assessment, LEED v4 Environmental Product Declarations (EPD), Starbucks Ethical Sourcing, Resilient Floor Covering Institute (RFCI) FloorScore® certification, BIFMA level® certificate, Climate Change Adaptation, Monitoring & Evaluation, Afforestation and Ecology & Biodiversity Assessments.
Mr. Jain is an active member of many national and international associations and thinks tanks working in the area of Natural Resources Management and Sustainable Development. He has participated in the ICIMOD summits, World Forest Congress,FSC’s and PEFC’s international conferences on Forest Certification, and CII’s and FICCI’s Conferences on Sustainable Trade and Business. At present, he is serving as the convener-treasurer in the governing in the body of “Network for Certification and Conservation of Forest” (NCCF), Which is the collaborative association of stakeholders for promoting and implementing National Forest Certification Standards in India.
Dr Jagdish Kishwan, the CEO at GIPL, is an internationally acclaimed Climate Change and Forestry Specialist with deep knowledge of practical issues in Wildlife and Agroforestry. He has been a distinguished member of the Indian Forest Service, and has held important assignments including that of the Director General, Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE),
The prestigious forestry research organization of national and international repute and concurrently as Chancellor FRI University, and the Head of Forest Force, Jammu and Kashmir State. He was the Lead Negotiator of the country in the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) on the subjects of Forestry and LULUCF from 2006 to 2014.
Over the years, he was involved in varied projects, e.g., securement of elephant corridors, integrated wildlife management plan, and also served as National Coordinator of Asia-Pacific Agroforestry Network (APAN) of FAO.
He has authored/presented more than 2 dozen papers on various aspects of climate change related to forests and wildlife, forestry, and agroforestry including REDD+ in journals and in national and international workshops, seminars and meetings. He has also co-edited ‘India’s Forests’ published by the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India.
He is an IRCA Certified Lead Auditor for FSC Certification of Forest Management.
