CARB & EPA TSCA Title VI Certification

The CARB & EPA TSCA Title VI Certification program certifies composite wood in accordance with California Air Resources Board (CARB) Airborne Toxic Control Measure (ATCM) to reduce formaldehyde emissions from composite Wood products sections 93120-93120.12 and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) Title VI, 40 CFR Part 770.

This regulation requires manufacturers of composite wood products (i.e., Hardwood Plywood – Veneer Core & Composite Core, Medium Density Fibreboard, thin Medium Density Fibreboard and Particleboard) to meet formaldehyde limits and undergo regular inspection and laboratory testing by an approved Third-Party Certifier.

GIPL is the regional partner of ICC-ES (CARB Approved & EPA Recognized Certification Body – TPC 44) for India to provide services for CARB & EPA TSCA Title VI Certification.

ICC Evaluation Service ICC-ES is the industry leader in performing technical evaluations of building products, materials and systems for code compliance.

Agencies use evaluation reports to help determine code compliance and enforce building regulations; manufacturers use reports as evidence that their products (and this is especially important if the products are new and innovative) meet code requirements and warrant regulatory approval.

ICC-ES evaluation reports are public documents, available free of charge online, not only to building regulators and manufacturers, but also to contractors, specifiers, architects, engineers, and anyone else with an interest in the building industry.
