Geotagging and Carbon Assessment of Trees for GIDC area in Vapi

Brief Description/summary: GICIA India Pvt. Ltd. is conducting a comprehensive tree geotagging and carbon assessment project for Vapi Industries Association and Vapi Green Enviro Limited in Vapi. The project aimed to physically verify and digitally map all trees within the GIDC Boundary. The project aims to support sustainability reporting, environmental monitoring, and carbon accounting. The project is being led by Shri A. K . Bansal- Retd IFS.
The main objectives of the study were as follows:
- Digitally identify and map all trees within the facility boundary
- Develop a geo-referenced tree inventory
- Assess tree health and physical attributes
- Estimate carbon sequestration potential
- Enable long-term monitoring through tagging and documentation
The project is being delivered through a structured methodology involving:
- Pre-assessment planning and GIS analysis
- Capacity building and training of field teams
- On-ground surveys conducted by dedicated technical teams
- Data validation, analysis, and reporting
- for similar industrial green audits
